The Big 3 made its debut in 2017. This is the 3×3 Basketball League formed by American hip-hop musician and actor Ice Cube. The roaster involved in Big 3 is composed by international and former NBA players.

In its inaugural year, there was an age limit of 30 for players, but then it was reduced to 22. Let’s dig further in the Big 3 and try to figure out what the league is all about.
Big 3 League Format-
Each of the league’s participating teams will play eight regular season games throughout the league. The team scoring 50 points early, will win the game, but only if the opposition team is 2 points away. The half-time of the game will only start when either side reaches 25 points. In the Big 3, each team will receive two minutes, equivalent to 60 seconds and 30 seconds per half.
However, most of the rules are the same as the traditional FIBA 3×3, but there are a few rules that differentiate the both and makes the Big 3 a lot more exciting and entertaining.
So what are the different rules?
• Game Clock: In Big 3, there is no jump ball rule to start the game instead home team simply inbounds the game which is determined by the 4-point shootout before the game. Once the game kicks off then there is no game clock. There is only a 14-second shot clock.
• Fouls: In the Big Three, the team making the 5th foul in each half will give away two free throws and possession of the ball to its opponent. Fouls made during shooting will result in one free throw which is worth the same points as the shot attempts.
• 3-second defensive rule: The Big 3 has no 3-second rule like the NBA, so the game can keep up with its pace. Unlike Fiba 3×3, the steals don’t have to be cleared from outside the 3-point line.
• Instant Replay: Instant Replay can be used frequently in Big 3 to check the scoreboard, faults and clearances.
