She had received Ayurvedic treatment for five months, but her condition did not improve; as a result, she passed away tragically at 5:20 p.m. that day. Today, her remains will be transported to Chennai, as planned.

Who is Bhavatharini?
Bhavatharini was an Indian singer and actor. She has been in the news because she died on January 25 after a protracted illness.
She was born on 23rd July 1976 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India. Her father is Ilaiyaraaja, a renowned Tamil singer, musician, and composer, and her mother is Jeeva. She also has two siblings named Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, who both are music composers.
Bhavatharini did her schooling at Rosary Matric School in Chennai. She was married and her husband’s name is R. Sabariraj, an advertising executive. The two didn’t have any children together.
She passed away in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s Western Province, on 25th January 2024. At the time of her death, she was 47 years old.
Her career
Bhavatharini embarked on her musical journey with a sensational debut as a singer in the film “Raasaiya,” where her song quickly became a chart-topping hit. This launched a fruitful career in which she went on to contribute her mesmerizing voice to albums written by her brothers and father.
Apart from working with her family, she showed her flexibility by lending her voice to songs written by Deva and Sirpy. Her father was the music director for the critically acclaimed film “Bharathi,” and her soul-stirring song “Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu” won her the coveted National Award in 2001 for her talent.
In 2002, Bhavatharini made a groundbreaking entry into the field of music directing with the Revathi-directed film “Mitr, My Friend,” which starred Shobhana. With the Telugu film industry, she embarked on a creative adventure with “Avunaa.”
Additionally, she made a lasting impression on Bollywood by writing the soundtrack for the Revathi-directed movie “Phir Milenge,” which starred Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Shilpa Shetty.
