It’s a horrific account of Kashmiri Pandits’ loss, sorrow, struggle, and trauma, and it raises serious questions about democracy, religion, politics, and humanity with Muslims burning, raping, murdering and converting the minority Hindus in the region in the 1990s.

Bhasha Sumbli, who was born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, between 1993 and 1991, is most known for her role in the recently released ‘the Kashmir Files’ movie. Her age is somewhere between 28 to 30 years but her exact date of birth isn’t known.

Bhasha graduated from the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) after attending a local school. She also wrote on ancient theatre forms and published essays on the subject. The NSD’s ‘Prem Prasang’ magazine published these pieces. In 2014, she was honoured with the Inlaks Theatre Award.
She’s also trained in Gopal Venu’s Indian Classical Acting form ‘Koodiyatta,’ which is an old art of Indian acting.

Bhasha’s remarkable career path began when she travelled to Mumbai to gain additional acting skills. When she visited Mumbai, she became a faculty member of Anupam Kher’s ‘Actor Prepares’ acting school.
She subsequently went on to work as an acting mentor on Zee TV’s Indian Best Dramebaaz season 2 and 3. She also stayed as an acting tutor for Sony TV’s ‘Sabse Bada Kalakaar,’ an acting reality programme.

She co-starred with Shweta Tiwari in the Indian TV series “Mere Dad Ki Dulhan.” She also played a supporting role in Deepika Padukone’s film ‘Chapaak.’ And now she’s in The Kashmir Files, the most important film of her career.
