The Indian government banned BGMI by the end of July because they were worried that it violated user privacy and had some kind of connection to China. The older version of the game is still playable, but new content can’t be added, and the game’s official listings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store have been taken down.

A few weeks ago, an RTI query proved that BGMI is blocked in India. This ban is now official. Krafton had said before that they were working with the Indian government to bring the game back. Players thought that BGMI would be back by August 15, but Krafton hasn’t said anything since then.
