BGMI Data Sent To China Ahead Of Battleground Mobile India Launch

Battlegrounds Mobile India a.k.a BGMI launched its early access for Android users, however now reports have emerged of BGMI data being sent to China 

Earlier, in September 2020 one of the most famous battle royale game for mobile PUBG was banned in India. The reason behind the ban was its Chinese connection with the company Tencent. Moreover, due to data security reasons, the Indian Government banned the game under act 69A. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology handed a permanent ban to the game.

Later on, Krafton claimed that they broke their ties with the Chinese company Tencent to function in India. Furthermore, they launched an exclusive game for India naming Battlegrounds Mobile India. So, what’s wrong now? Why the game will be banned?

BGMI Data Sent To China: Why Battleground Mobile India Will Get Banned 

BGMI released their early access version of the game for android users on 17th June. Moreover, it was said that Miety has granted all the permissions to launch the game and will function in India from now. Although, there are still demands raising up from several politicians and officials to ban the game.

Later on, IGN India an Indian website came up with data of the IP address of the game. The IP address was 36.152.4.34 and it belonged to a Chinese company. The company which is running the IP address is named China Mobile communication cooperations and is based in Beijing.

Moreover, the reports also claimed that the data is shared when a user opens the game and plays it. Sometimes, it is also sharing the data when the game is not being played and is only installed on the mobile phone. Earlier, before the launch of the game, Krafton claimed that the data will be stored in Singapore servers and sometimes in Moscow in the Microsoft Azure headquarters.

After the report, Meenakashi Lekhi an MP shared the post on Twitter and said she will ask the Government of India to look into it.

PUBG Mobile was banned in India in September 2020 along with 117 Chinese apps. However, BGMI is still to launch its full version and with these allegations, the game might face some trouble even before launching.
