The Grind is a pre-Battlegrounds India Series exhibition game held annually, featuring an officially sanctioned prize pool for invited teams.

All of the invited teams are divided into different groups who all compete for the various cash prizes. This season the organizers invited all the BGMI Tier 1 teams, along with underdog teams that performed well in the BGIS 2021 and who managed to proceed to rounds 2, 3, and 4.

This year, there are 256 teams in total who have registered register for The Grind event. Out of that, the first 128 teams will compete in the first week of the competition.

BGIS 2023 ‘The Grind’ format

The Grind will feature a whopping 256 teams divided into two groups of 128 teams each. During the first week, the first 128 teams will battle it out, while the remaining 128 teams will compete in the second week. Meanwhile, the third week will feature the 64 teams who qualified from week 1 and the fourth week will feature the 64 teams from week 2.

Out of the first group of 64 teams that compete in the third week, half of them will be eliminated, while the other half will move on to the fifth week. The other 64 teams who compete in the fourth week will follow a similar format.
