At the Leicester Morningside Arena’s 2022 BetVictor Championship League Snooker, Michael Judge and Chris Wakelin made it to the Winners’ Week. Zhang Anda, Luke Simmonds, and Kyren Wilson’s Judge’s Group 6 was one of the closest in Championship League Snooker history as all four players entered the break in the morning session without having suffered a defeat or a victory after three draws. Simmonds had initially worried Wilson because the Q School top-up did lead 2-0 and appeared poised to defeat the former champion by a landslide.
Wilson lost a 2-0 lead despite being the stronger of the two following an 88-break second frame, and the evening’s action continued as Wilson and Judge split the spoils. All four players were now within two points of victory as a result of that outcome, and Wilson emerged as the group’s winner thanks to his high break of 98 during his comeback against Simmonds.
After an 87-second break in the day’s final match, Zhang and Wilson took the lead. Wilson’s break ended at 15-19 in the final after missing the black right away, and Zhang then came back with a break of 65 to advance Judge to the Winners’ Group.
