Jimmy White defeated Peng Yisong 5-1 to go to the BetVictor German Masters quarterfinals in Berlin and set up a tantalizing matchup with Jack Lisowski. White is looking forward to his match against Lisowski tomorrow night after composing breaks of 55, 82, 63, 50, & 70 on his path to victory. After sweeping Zhang Anda of China 5-0, world number 12 Lisowski made quick work of clinching his spot in the round of 16. On his way to a decisive victory this afternoon that only lasted an hour and 19 minutes, the Englishman put together breaks of 61, 117, & 87.
With a 5-2 victory over Sam Craigie, Kyren Wilson maintained his chances of climbing to the top of the BetVictor Series rankings. In today’s victory, Wilson scored with 82 and will now play Jimmy Robertson for a spot in the quarterfinals. In order to advance to the round of 16, Elliot Slessor defeated Joe O’Connor 5-2, and Tian Pengfei defeated Anthony McGill 5-1.
Prior to the semi-final round, all matches in the German Masters main draw will be played on a best-of-nine frames format. Before the tournament’s conclusion on Sunday with a best-of-19 frames championship match, the semi-final will have a best-of-11 format.
