2022 BetVictor European Masters Snooker Tournament Schedule, Venue. Format, and Rules
The 2022 BetVictor European Masters was a professional snooker competition that was held in the Stadthalle Fürth in Fürth, Germany, from August 16–21, 2022. The second of eight tournaments in the BetVictor Series for the 2022–23 season, it served as a ranking event. There was a £422,000 total prize pool, of which the winner received £80,000.
Up until the semifinals, which were best of 11, matches at the competition were played as the best of nine frames. A best-of-17-frames contest over two sessions comprised the final.
Kyren Wilson vs Barry Hawkins Final Match Events
In the 2022 European Masters final in Furth, Kyren Wilson defeated Barry Hawkins 9-3 to win his fifth career ranking title. At the mid-session break, Wilson had built up a seemingly insurmountable 6-2 lead. Wilson maintained his composure to win three of the following four frames, punishing Hawkins for a performance that was littered with mistakes.
The world No. 8 had to work hard to defeat Ali Carter in the last frame of the semi-final on Saturday, but he barely broke a sweat when he eliminated Hawkins, who faltered after a stellar performance against Mark Williams. Wilson has now won three ranking championships in Germany including the 2018 Paul Hunter Classic and 2019 German Masters.
