LaMelo Ball had gone onto claim that he was more than fine with skipping college as he talked about how a school taught one nothing
Although he’s tasted consummate success in extremely little time in the NBA with him winning the revered NBA Rookie of the Year award last season, LaMelo Ball’s recent comments haven’t been taken too kindly. Skipping college in a bid to make a foray into the land of NBA, Ball talked about his journey as he belittled the need of education in a person’s life.
Skipping his junior year and part of his senior year to play basketball professionally in Lithuania and Australia, Ball ended up sealing a move to the NBA last year. Picked as the number three draft pick in NBA 2020-21, Ball delivered a staggering performance for the Charlotte Hornets as he recorded 15.7 ppg, 6.1 apg and 5.9 rpg for the side.
Sitting down in an interview to discuss himself and his career, Ball was quizzed about his decision to keep college at a bay. He went onto claim that people like him had no need for college with it not being a priority for him.
LaMelo Ball Claims Comments On College Taken Out Of Context
Whilst for Ball not going to college might have worked out owing to his career choice, its not a path which many others can afford to take. Its what lead to the massive outrage over the 19 year old’s ensuing comments as he said school doesn’t even teach one shit and asked what the f*** is school.
Ensuing the bruhaha over his comments, Ball took to social media to issue a clarification over his comments. He spoke about how he actually meant he didn’t need to go to school but one should get their ass over to school if they wanted to be a doctor.
“Let me rephrase… school not for everybody,” Ball wrote.
“Now if u wanna b a doctor… Betta take that ass to scoo. So please don’t b going to ya mommas talkin bout some ion wanna do school melo said u don’t need it,” he continued.
