Here is all you need to know about the Bengal Pro League T20 2024 including the teams captains, owners and schedule
The much-anticipated Bengal Pro T20 League first edition kicks off next month and eight teams are getting ready to showcase their talents on a big stage.
The eight teams are Kolkata, Howrah, Diamond Harbour, Medinipur, Siliguri, Murshidabad, Rarh (which includes the districts of Bardhhaman and Birbhum) and Malda, and they are based on West Bengali cities and districts.
The Bengal Pro T20 League trophy was unveiled in front of Sourav Ganguly, Jhulan Goswami, a former cricket player, and Snehasish Ganguly, President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). It is the CAB’s official T20 league based on franchisees.
As former captain Ganguly has pointed out, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has had a big impact on young, aspiring cricket players in the country. Several players have been called up to the national squad based on their IPL performance.

Given his revolutionary role in shaping India’s aggressive cricket style during his captaincy, it is hardly surprise that he is such a proponent of T20 cricket. He said during the trophy revelation event:
Many of us who started playing 2-day cricket and 4-day cricket will have to accept that T20 cricket is here to stay and it is something that will take the game forward.”
