Brooklyn Nets are another team after the Los Angeles Lakers among the favourites who went through a very bad NBA season. While one couldn’t even reach the Play-In Tournament, the Nets lose to the Boston Celtics with a score of 4-0 and now their season is done for the year.

Earlier it was all attack on Kyrie Irving then Kevin Durant and now it is Ben Simmons who is yet to have a debut with the newly signed franchise. Nets suffered a lack of players at the beginning where Irving was out due to vaccination policies and Durant was sidelined due to injuries. In absence of the two, it was expected that Simmons would be contributing to the Nets after his trade from the Philadelphia 76ers.

BEN SIMMONS’ TIME AT LSU

Simmons was the consensus No. 1 prep player in the country at Montverde Academy in Florida, and moved to LSU for just one season in 2015 where he averaged (19.2 points), rebounds (11.8), assists (4.8), steals (2) and blocked shots (0.8).

He was the SEC Freshman of the Year and was only the ninth LSU men’s basketball player to earn first-team All-America honors but the Tigers finished 19-14, and suffered an embarrassing 33-point loss to Texas A&M in the SEC tournament semifinals.

After failing to make the NCAA Tournament, Simmons declared for the 2016 NBA draft, forgoing his final three years of college eligibility and withdrew from the school at the conclusion of the season and moved to Phoenix ahead of the draft.

For Simmons, college was “pointless” and “wasting time,” and he “seldom went to class during spring semester along with “demonstrating minimal effort and poor body language on the court,” and was benched for a game against Tennessee for academic reasons.
