During the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games we witnessed some exciting events and, also saw the rise of many future stars as well as gave a farewell to many legends of the sport.

But now, it’s again time to gear up as the 2022 Winter Paralympics is about to begin. Let’s have a glance at all the necessary information you need to know about the upcoming 2022 Winter Paralympics. The 2022 Winter Paralympics will begin on the 4th of March and, will end on the 13th of March.

Winter Paralympics 2022 Events And Sports List

This global Paralympics sporting event would be hosted over 10 days with many athletes who will be participating in 78 different events spread across six sports which are divided into two disciplines: snow sports which include alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon and snowboarding, and ice sports that include Para ice hockey and wheelchair curling.

Alike the 2022 Winter Olympics, the 2022 Paralympics will too take place in China’s capital Beijing and its territories. All the sporting events will take place at six venues in the three competition zones of central Beijing, Yanqing, and Zhangjiakou.

The List Of Events That Are Going To Take Place At The 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics-

Alpine Skiing – This event will consist of five different events that are downhill, super-G, super combined, giant slalom, slalom which will have standing, sitting, and vision-impaired categories to compete in as well. A total of 30 medal events will be there with an equal distribution of men and women. Players like Marie Bochet of France, Jeroen Kampschreur of the Netherland, Giacomo Bertagnolli  Of Italy, Henrieta Farkasova of Slovakia, and Ebba Aarsjoe of Sweden are some of the players to watch out for in the event.

Biathlon – The Biathlon event consists of a combination of cross-country skiing and rifle shooting and this event as well as standing, sitting, and vision-impaired categories to compete in. Everyone is looking forward to players like Benjamin Daviet of France, Clara Klug of Germany, Kendall Gretsch of the USA, Liudmyla Liashenko of Ukraine, and Ekaterina Rumyantseva of the Russian Federation.

Cross-Country Skiing – This event is open to competitors with physical and visual impairments. Players to look out for in this event are – Carina Edlinger of the USA, Oksana Masters of the USA as well, Brian McKeever of Canada,  Zebastian Modin of Sweden, and Natalie Wilkie of Canada.

Snowboarding- This discipline consists of snowboard-cross, banked slalom, and giant slalom, along with a total of eight medal events which includes two for women. Players to watch out for are Mike Schultz of USA, Chris Vos of Netherlands, Keith Gabel of USA, Ben Tudhope of Australia, Lisa Bunschoten – Netherlands, and Sandrine Hamel of Canada.

Sled Hockey – Sled hockey is a sport where male and female athletes both, with a physical impairment in the lower part of the body can participate. This sport has been quite popular in the Paralympic since its invention. Declan Farmer of the USA, Tyler McGregor of Canada, Andrei Kasatkin of the Russian Federation, Jung Seung-Hwan of Korea, and Andrea Macri of Italy are some of the players to look out for in the event.

Wheelchair Curling- Wheelchair Curling is a sporting event that is open to both male and female athletes with a physical impairment in their lower half of the body, which can include spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and double-leg amputation. During the Beijing 2022 Paralympic, this event is going to feature 12 mixed-gender teams where each team will require including at least one female player in their team. Players to look out for are Kristina Ulander of Sweden, Polina Rozkova of Latvia, Haitao Wang of China, Mark Ideson of Canada, and Ole Fredrik Syversen of Norway.
