Rohit Sharma Not To Be The New Captain Of Indian Cricket Team With Virat Kohli Set To Keep Captaincy
However, the rumours have since been douses with BCCI’s treasurer, Arun Dhumal coming out to openly quash the claims. He went onto assert that all such reports were completely rubbish and Kohli would continue as the captain of Team India in all three formats.
“This is all rubbish. Nothing such is happening. This is all what you guys are talking about. BCCI has not met or discussed anything on this issue. Virat will remain as the captain (of all formats),” the BCCI treasurer said.
For Kohli, the forthcoming T20 World Cup is going to be a massive test of his captaincy. His barren run in ICC tournaments has seen him be put to the sword with many calling for him to step down and hand over the reigns to Rohit.
