MS Dhoni will be linking up with the Indian team ensuing the completion of IPL 2021 in UAE as the side’s mentor for the T20 World Cup 2021
While India’s 15 man squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2021 later this year threw our way no surprises, there were a couple of players who’ll feel hard done by their exclusion.
However, there’s no inclusion which has managed to win over cricket aficionados in India. Its that of MS Dhoni being reined in by the Board of Control for Cricket in India as the mentor of the Indian team for the marquee tournament.
MS Dhoni To Be With Team India As The Mentor For The T20 World Cup 2021
Dhoni who had lifted the glistening trophy with India in the maiden edition of the T20 world cup will be a massive asset for the side as they travel to UAE and Onam after the completion of the IPL. The world cup which was originally slated to be held in India was decided to be shifted out of the country owing to reports of a potential third wave unleashing its havoc during the same time as the world cup.
Honorary Secretary, Jay Shah revealed the news of getting MS Dhoni on board for the marquee event. Dhoni who is currently in UAE with Chennai Super Kings will be linking up with Team India proceeding the completion of IPL 2021.

The Indian squad meanwhile sees Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar be named as the three reserve players whilst T. Natarajan and Navdeep Saini miss out altogether. Virat Kohli will lead the side out at the world cup whilst Rohit Sharma will be his deputy with there being reports of both opening for India at the tournament.
