“Bazball in 144p,” Cricbuzz Mocks Pakistan After Top Order Collapse vs New Zealand

Babar Azam’s team lost three early wickets to New Zealand, which led to jokes about Pakistan trying to play England’s Bazball with Cricbuzz jumping in on the act

Since Brandon McCullum took over as the Three Lions’ Test coach and Ben Stokes was given the team skipper, England’s Test squad has undergone a total transformation. The English team thoroughly defeated Babar Azam’s Pakistan on their own soil thanks to their “Bazball” strategy.

The Men in Green welcome New Zealand to Pakistan in an effort to recover from that defeat and maintain their chances of making it to the World Test Championship final (WTC). However, Pakistan ultimately lost three early wickets in Day 1’s first session alone.

In Karachi, Pakistan is now playing New Zealand in the first Test match.

In yet another Test match, Pakistan’s batters have utterly failed. The hosts of the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi on Monday didn’t seem to have improved on Day 1.  Imam-Ul-Haq added 24 runs to the cause before being bowled at 24, while opener Abdullah Shafique was dismissed by Ajaz Patel after scoring just 7 runs. A disappointing performance was also sent in by Shan Masood, who could only muster 3 runs before losing to Bracewell.

Babar, the captain, scored a fifty to help calm the ship as he worked well with Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain, who was filling in for Mohammed Rizwan and playing his first Test in a while. Pakistan was struggling at 48/3 when Babar and Sarfaraz helped them reach 115/4 at lunch. The hosts previously struggled to keep up with England’s ‘Bazball’ strategy, which caused havoc. After Pakistan lost its first three wickets, fans taunted Babar’s team, claiming that they attempted to play ‘Bazball’ but failed to do so.

See how Twitter responded:

The host team’s batting strategy has come under ferocious criticism from fans on Twitter, who claim that they are trying to mimic England’s Bazball style. People have criticised the home team’s batsmen on social media for not playing in the Bazball hitting style that England is known for. Sarfaraz was batting at position four when Babar, after a rocky start, slammed a fifty and had a total of 54 by the time of lunch. When Pakistan attempted to surpass Tim Southee’s team, Saud Shakeel contributed 22 runs to the effort.
