Battlefield 2042 not only lacked key franchise elements but also changed the tried-and-true class structure to a more specialised approach. The system was comparable to Call of Duty and other hero-shooters such as Overwatch and Valorant.
The game was also riddled with flaws and glitches that rendered it unplayable. Dice has been consistently updating the game over the previous six months, adding improvements across the board. The most recent Battlefield 2042 update is 4.1.

Multiple changes to the All-Out Warfare rotations are included in this release. The 128-player version of Breakthrough has been removed as our most significant update. When we looked at the many modes available in All-Out Warfare, we decided that the 128 player scenarios are best suited for Conquest, where the gameplay spaces are wider and sandbox gameplay is more natural.
