Xavi Leaving Barcelona
Xavi, who took over Barcelona in November 2021 and guided them to the LaLiga title last season, recently announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the current season.
Rafa Marquez, the current coach of Barcelona’s B team, and former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui are both listed as second favorites for the managerial position at odds of 6/1.
As of now, Barcelona sits in third place in LaLiga, trailing Real Madrid by ten points. De Zerbi, who assumed the role of Brighton manager in September 2022 after managing Shakhtar Donetsk, achieved notable success in his debut season by guiding Brighton to the FA Cup semi-finals and securing a seventh-place finish in the Premier League.
The team also qualified for the Europa League for the first time in their history. In the current season, Brighton occupies seventh place in the Premier League, having accumulated 32 points from 21 games.
