Krejcikova and Siniakova won 7-6(5), 6-2 over No. 5 seeds Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jelena Ostapenko in the semifinal round on Sunday to advance to their third WTA Finals championship match. Krejcikova and Siniakova are currently 22-0 overall in this year’s Slams and WTA Finals after already winning the three majors in which they participated, the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. They have only lost three games all year.

The fourth-seeded team of Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova, who have lost only one set combined in their WTA Finals team debut, will compete against the Czech duo. Kudermetova and Mertens easily upset No. 8 seeds Desirae Krawczyk and Demi Schuurs 6-1, 6-1 in 56 minutes. Since Krejcikova and Siniakova defeated Mertens and Hsieh Su-Wei to win the Guadalajara final from the previous year, three of the four opponents in Tuesday’s final will have previously faced each other in that competition.

Krejcikova and Siniakova, the top-ranked women’s doubles players in the world, have won each of the four Grand Slam tournaments. They also took home the gold in Tokyo 2020, and they currently hold the title of WTA Finals doubles champions. In each of its four triumphs so far in this year’s championship, the Czech team has yet to drop a set. The duo are expected to prevail against fourth seeds Kudermetova and Mertens tomorrow with the chance to cap off an amazing year with another doubles title together.
