One of the best wrestlers out there, Bajrang Punia, is demonstrating outside Jantar Mantar in Delhi, calling for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to be detained and removed from office but he’s more busy deleting a story in support of the Bajrang Dal
What has been the story?
The wrestler Bajrang Punia wrote on his Instagram story on May 7th, 2023, “I am Bajrangi. I support Bajrang Dal. Jai Shri Ram.” Additionally, the message urged all Bajrangis to keep the image as their WhatsApp status and display the image. But shortly after he published it, liberals and Islamists, including those who backed the wrestlers in their protests against BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, began to attack Bajrang Punia and brand him a bigot. Later, the wrestler removed the posting.

Currently, Punia is demonstrating at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and calling for the detention and removal of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The demonstration is being led by Congress and Aam Admi Party officials and today’s addition of farmer advocacy groups. Punia’s supporters began to turn on him as soon as he declared his support for the Bajrang Dal, though many of them did.
Watch some of reactions below.
Punia was prompted by Radio Mirchi RJ Sayema to choose between a “Hooliganism or peaceful existence” society.
Seriously! Well! You really need to decide what kind of a society you want @BajrangPunia

This Twitter user has previously tweeted, “He is Bajrang Punia, the Indian wrestler. He completed a communal post in 2020 to appease his BJP bosses. He was sobbing in Jantar Mantar two days earlier in protest of sexual harassment by a BJP MP. He is currently posting pro-BJP and Bajrang Dal stories to his Instagram account.” The phrase “once a bigot, always a bigot” applies here.

Following the Congress party’s announcement to outlaw the Bajrang Dal in its electoral manifesto for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023, Bajrang Punia tweeted in support of the Bajrang Dal. However, after criticism from liberals and Islamists, the wrestler removed the post. It is noteworthy that Congress later stated that it will not ban Bajrang Dal despite receiving a strong protest from the Hindu community, the VHP, the Bajrang Dal, and the BJP.
