Bengalureans are savouring the 24th edition of the ‘Shree Vasavi Avarebele Mela’ at National College Grounds in Basavanagudi until January 9 and this year’s edition witnesses a doubled footfall, with nearly 300 stalls and over 500 farmers, offering a boost to the Avarebele industry.

Organized by Shree Vasavi Condiments, the Annual Avarebele Mela commenced at the National College Ground in Basavanagudi on Friday.
The event kicked off by honoring Magadi farmers for their unwavering efforts. In its 24th edition, the mela boasts a remarkable variety of over a hundred dishes prepared from ‘Avarekai,’ or broad beans, available at the stalls.
The festival drew large crowds from various age groups, creating a vibrant atmosphere. In addition to culinary delights, the mela featured stalls offering clothing, cosmetics, and more. Dedicated play zones were also set up for children to enjoy.
Like last year, it is being held from January 5 to 9 at the National College grounds in Basavanagudi and the Avarebele Mela, also known as Avarekai Mela, is open from 10 am to 10 pm daily.
