How ATP Men’s Doubles Rankings is Decided?
The mechanism for calculating a player’s ranking points has changed multiple times since the inception of the ATP rankings. As of 2017, ranking is determined by adding all of a player’s best 18 results from all qualified tournaments, including the ATP Finals (Doubles) performed over the 52-week ranking cycle. There are no necessary events for entrance purposes; nevertheless, once a player is allowed into the main draw of one of these 12 tournaments, his performance in that tournament will be used to determine his ranking, regardless of whether or not he participates.
