Know about the top heavy favourites and predictions at the 2022 Rolex Paris Masters 1000 Tennis in the men’s doubles category
The top doubles team in the world, Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram will play together in Vienna this week before travelling to Paris for the first time since winning the US Open title in September. The pair has a 10-match victory streak going dating back to the Cincinnati Masters competition.
Neal Skupski, who finished in second place at Flushing Meadows, and his Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof will attempt to win their seventh championship and third Masters trophy in 2022. Lloyd Glasspool, who is currently having a breakout season and has risen to a career-high world No. 19, will once more team up with Harri Heliovaara of Finland as they compete for an ATP Finals spot. For the first time since they won their first match in Winston-Salem, Australia’s Matthew Ebden and Jamie Murray will team up, while Evans will play with John Peers, Murray’s former teammate.

1- Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury
In the history of the Pepperstone ATP Doubles Rankings, Rajeev Ram made history this October when he became the oldest player to ever reach World No. 1. The American moved up from World No. 2, trading places with British partner Joe Salisbury. The 38-year-old had been ranked No. 2 since 4 April, and he rose to the top spot when Salisbury lost the 250 points he had accrued as a result of winning the San Diego Open with Neal Skupski the previous year. Ram put himself in a position to succeed when he led Salisbury to their second straight US Open victory last month.
Ram and Salisbury have made it clear that in their cooperation, they have always prioritised the team over the individual. Together, they have claimed three Grand Slam victories and eight tour-level victories. They have also qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals four times in a row. The 2022 US Open champions had pretty good advancements this season along with the titles and are expected to go ahead with their outstanding class to extend their ranking on top.
2- Tim Puetz and Michael Venus
The 2021 doubles champions at the Paris Masters 1000 are back to defend their title this year. Tim Puetz and Michael Venus also are going through a decent season winning two titles and reaching four finals along with other high level advancements. The two won the title at the Dubai Tennis Championships as their first of 2022 defeating Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic. The duo then reached the final at the Stuttgart Open but were defeated by Hubert Hurkacz and Mate Pavic followed by their loss at the final at the hands of duo Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers. Puetz and Venus then made it to the Austrian Open final losing the title to Lorenzo Sonego and Pedro Martinez. At Cincinnati, they lost to Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. Quite a good reach and the two are expected to go ahead with their great consistency.
3- Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos
Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos started their 2022 tennis season by reaching the semifinals of the Grand Slam in Australia but were defeated by eventual winners Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis. Ahead of it, they made it to the semifinals of the Rio Open, French Open, German Open and Astana Open. Their best results this year were reaching the last two of the two Grand Slams, Australian Open and the Roland Garros, amd winning the Halle Open doubles title overcoming Michael Venus and Tim Puetz.
4- Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski
Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski have been one of the top favourites of this year’s every tournament as the two have reached several finals and won many titles this year proving their great consistent run.
The two started their 2022 tennis season with a title in Melbourne, Australia. In the next event they participated in, at the Adelaide International 2, the two made it to the final before losing to Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar. They reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open followed by ending up semifinalists at the ATP Rotterdam. At Qatar, they clinched their first title of the season overthrowing Rohan Bopanna and Denis Shapovalov. After making it to the two back-to-back last eights at Dubai Tennis Championships and Indian Wells Masters, they lost the Miami Open title to Hurkacz and John Isner.
Wesley-Skupski then won their second title at Madrid Open ahead of losing their Barcelona Open title. The two also reached the quarterfinals at French Open after which, they clinched their third at S-Hertogenbosch and fourth at Canadian Open.
The duo lost the US Open title to Ram and Salisbury.
5- Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek
The French Open finalists, as well as Dodig who won the title of the mixed doubles at the Australian Open, have been going through a really strong season to not be into the top five this year.
