Roberto Bautista Agut has been dominant all over this week and ended his journey at the 2022 Qatar Open winning his first ATP Tour title since 2019. The Spaniard beat the 2021 Qatar Open champion Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-3, 6-4 at the final ending his week in style with a trophy. The World No. 16 dropped just one set in the match that lasted for 86 minutes.
“I am very happy, it’s been a while since I lifted a trophy,” said Agut post clinching the title at Qatar.
The player further said that it was his “big dream” to win a title as he worked very hard to reach this level. He has now won two titles in Doha.
Meanwhile, the runner-up congratulated Roberto and said that he would love to be back at the tournament again. The Reigning champion then thanked the crowd and said he loves playing in front of them.

Rohan Bopanna and Denis Shapovalov vs Neal Skupski and Wesley Koolhof
Unfortunate final for the Indian and Canadian duo as they lost to Skupski-Wesley pair at the final to miss the chance winning the title in Qatar. The Indo-Canadian team got defeated 7-6(4), 6-1. It was Rohan’s third final of the season among which he won two titles with Ramkumar Ramanathan.
The previous winners of the tournament in the doubles category were the Russian duo Arlan Karatsev and Andrey Rublev.

Neal Skupski and Wesley Koolhof went home with $40,720 along with 250 ATP points while Bopanna-Shapovalov received $29, 240 and 150 points.
