To reach his first Grand Slam semifinal at the U.S. Open earlier this month, American 24-year-old Tiafoe performed with the same clutch success and beaming showmanship.
Djokovic helped Team Europe win 8-4 on Saturday by winning both the singles and doubles matches. The teams competed on Sunday for three points in each match, with the first team with 13 points winning the Rod Laver Trophy. Rod Laver is the only person to have won the calendar-year Grand Slam twice.
Thanks to Felix Auger-Aliassime, a 22-year-old Canadian, winning two matches on a penultimate day at the O2 Arena, Team World took the lead. After teaming up with Jack Sock to overcome Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini in doubles 2-6, 6-3, 10-8, he overcame 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic 6-3, 7-6 (3).

ATP Laver Cup 2022 Prize Money
The Laver Cup purse for 2022 is set at $2,250,000 (or €2,284,537 and £1,996,503), which is a considerable amount considering that just 12 players will compete.
Each member of the winning team which is Team World will get a check for $250,000, which is equal to €253,966 and £221,808. Again, there is no change in these award amounts from 2021 in any direction.
But everyone who takes part comes out ahead in some way, with the losing team members of Team Europe each receiving a check for $125,000, which is equivalent to €126,936 and £110,893 for their efforts.
Players at the Laver Cup receive guaranteed participation fees proportional to their rankings in addition to the prize money, so the higher ranked a player is, the more they receive just for competing.
