Novak Djokovic vs Stefanos Tsitsipas
Novak Djokovic recovered from a setback to defeat No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas to win his sixth title in Rome, Italy. With the victory, the No. 1 ATP player added to his 38th Masters 1000 title. He defeated Tsitsipas 6-0, 7-6 in the final (5).
So far in the 2022 season, Djokovic has won his first trophy. Following vaccine regulations that prohibited his participation in various tournaments, the Serb was forced to withdraw from several events. Novak was also unable to compete in the inaugural Grand Slam tournament because his visa was twice revoked owing to a dispute over vaccination status and medical exemptions.
The Serbian needed to reach the semifinals of the Italian Open to stay atop the ATP rankings, and he did just that, winning his 1000th match and reaching the 55th Masters 1000 final, defeating Casper Ruud in straight sets.
Djokovic, a 34-year-old Serbian who has won 20 Grand Slam titles, will now defend his championship in the Roland Garros competition.

Diego Schwartzman and John Isner vs Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic
The pair of Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic successfully defended their title by defeating opponents John Isner and Diego Schwartzman in the Italian Open 2022 with a score of 6-2, 6-7(6-8), [12-10]. They had defeated duo Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury in 2021 to clinch the trophy in Rome.
