Harry Singh makes senior England debut

Harry Singh, came on as on the field as a substitute after the third over during the recent India vs Sri Lanka first innings on day 1. Singh then came on to the field again during the 37th over of Sri Lanka’s innings after vice-captain Harry Brook went off. Sri Lanka opted to bast first and set a 236 target in their first innings. Meanwhile, England made 22/0 in four overs and they are currently trailing by 214 runs on Day 1.

Harry Singh is a professional cricketer who was born on June 16, 2004 and he is currently 20 years old. He currently plays as a right-arm batter for the Lancashire Cricket Club. Harry is the son of former Indian cricketer RP Singh, who represented India during the 1980s. He played in two ODIs for the Indian national team. RP amassed a total of 1413 runs throughout his career. RP Singh moved to England during the late 1990s where he started working as a coach with Lancashire County. He also worked with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Career and stats

Harry Singh has so far played seven List A matches, after previously making his debut for Lancashire earlier this July during the One-Day Cup. He has so far scored a total of 87 runs at an average rate of 12.42. When he is not batting, Harry also bowls off-breaks and currently has two wickets in the format.

Meanwhile, Harry made his England U-19 team debut in 2022 during a home series against Sri Lanka U-19. He is currently a substitute in the senior England cricket team in the ongoing three-match test series against Sri Lanka.
