It has come to light that Aston Villa women’s coach Jack Peel was suspended after he was accused of sending sexually explicit communications to minor players
The women’s team members, ages 17, 18, and 19, have claimed that Jack Peel, age 27 sent them inappropriate messages on WhatsApp and Snapchat.

There is no mention of any revealing images or physical touch having taken place in any of them. The team has requested the FA to investigate Jack Peel. Once the players informed Villa management in 2021, Jack Peel’s time as U21 women’s team manager came to an immediate end.
In 2020, he moved to Aston Villa from Birmingham City, another club in the Premier League’s second division, after he successfully completed the rigorous FA safeguarding checks required to coach girls’ football.

The Safeguarding department of Birmingham City Council was also made aware of the situation by Villa. Jack Peel was reportedly interviewed and suspended by Aston Villa soon after allegations were made against him, and the club also claimed to have alerted the FA and other relevant authorities at the same time.
As is customary in such cases, Jack Peel was suspended awaiting the outcome of a Disciplinary Hearing. He quit right before the trial. The club has stated that it takes its safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and complies with all the relevant legislation and Premier League and FA regulations in this area.
