2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship schedule, history, & Indian squad trials
From June 27 to June 30, 2023, Busan, South Korea, will host the Asian Kabaddi Championship. After a six-year break, the continental kabaddi competition will resume. The competition has featured teams from numerous Asian nations since it was first held in 1980, including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Iran, and many more. The Indian men’s kabaddi team has won seven gold medals across the tournament’s eight iterations, making them the most successful side in its history.
In the 2017 championship game, India defeated Pakistan 36–22 to retain their title. On May 4, the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Bihar, opened its coaching camp for the 40 likely men’s players for the Asian Kabaddi Championship and the Asian Games. It is confirmed that on May 17, the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna will host the tryouts for the men’s Indian kabaddi team to be selected for the Asian Kabaddi Championship.
