2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship schedule, history, & Indian squad trials
Tuesday’s opening game of the men’s Asian Kabaddi Championship saw India defeat hosts South Korea with a score of 76-13. With seven titles, India, the most successful team in the continental tournament, outsmarted South Korea by scoring nine straight points in the opening period before the latter could score a point in the contest. By the end of the first half, Korea had only scored four points overall compared to India’s 40. India ultimately jumped out to a commanding 63-point lead, with Korea scoring only nine points in the second half.
Later on Tuesday, India clashed against the 2023 Bangabandhu Cup runner-up team Chinese Taipei and thanks to yet another superb display, the reigning champions emerged victorious by the score of 59-13. Following these results, India sit at the top of the standings with four points from two games. Meanwhile, Japan and Iran are close behind with two-points from one match.
