The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 will feature six countries: India, Iran, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong. After Iran and Chinese Taipei square off in the tournament’s opening match earlier in the day, the Indian men’s kabaddi squad will begin its campaign against Korea on Tuesday.
For the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship, the top two teams after the league phase will face off following a single-leg round-robin final on July 30. The men’s kabaddi team from India will enter the match as the reigning champions. In the title match of the 2017 tournament, India defeated Pakistan 36–22.
Since the Asian Kabaddi Championship’s inception in 1980, India has won seven titles in eight editions, making them the most successful men’s squad. Iran won the 2003 competition, which took place in Kangar, Malaysia.
The best PKL players are among the twelve national kabaddi squad members from India who have been chosen for the Busan competition. Arjun Deshwal, the best raider from the most recent PKL season, will be in charge of spearheading the Indian attack with seasoned raiders like Naveen Kumar and Pawan Sehrawat. Sunil Kumar, Parvesh Bhainswal, Surjeet Singh, and Nitesh Kumar’s involvement will bolster India’s defence.
