On Wednesday, the Indian men’s kabaddi squad continued their winning streak in the 2023 Asian Games by defeating Thailand with a commanding score of 63-26. India, led by Pawan Sehrawat, maintained their leading position in the Asian Games 2023 kabaddi Group A standings, thanks to a 37-point margin of victory. While Chinese Taipei also boasts two victories, their points differential stands at +37, in contrast to India’s impressive +74.
Aslam Inamdar and Akash Shinde played pivotal roles in India’s victory, extending their halftime lead of 28 points to a final margin of 37. In addition to accumulating points through successful raids, India strategically pursued bonus points against Thailand. Looking ahead, the Indian kabaddi team is set to face tough challenges from Chinese Taipei and Japan as they vie for the top spot in Group A on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Indian women’s kabaddi team managed to win 54-22 against Thailand and finished at the top of Group-A to qualify for the semi-final phase. It is confirmed that the women’s category semi-final ties will be played on Friday. As per schedule, India will play against Nepal and Iran will face-off against Chinese Taipei with a place in the championship match at stake.
