Since their gold medal win at the 1982 Asian Games, Indian women’s team has been a consistent presence at the Asian Games. In the previous Jakarta Asian Games in 2018, India claimed a silver medal.

2023 Asian Games hockey latest results, upcoming schedule, date, venue, format, & participating teams
The Indian women’s hockey squad launched their 2023 Asian Games campaign on Wednesday in Hangzhou, with a commanding 13-0 victory over Singapore. Goals were netted by Udita (at the 6-minute mark), Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam (at 8′), Deepika (at 11′), Navneet (at 14′ and 14′), Deep Grace Ekka (at 17′), Neha (at 19′), Sangita Kumari (at 23′, 47′, and 53′), Salima Tete (at 35′), Vandana Katariya (at 56′), and Monika (at 52′) in India’s resounding triumph against Singapore. As a result of this victory, the Indian women’s hockey team has ascended to the second-place of the Pool A standings.
At the midway point of the game, India was leading 8-0. Following the change of sides, the Indian squad maintained their dominance and continued to increase their score during the second half. Goals were netted by Salima Tete, Sangita Kumari, Vandana Katariya, and Monika, totaling five in the final two quarters, securing a significant victory for India. Notably, Sangita Kumari accomplished a hat-trick during the match.
