Here is the complete list of India athletes and teams squad who have secured berths at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023
The Asian Games 2023 will take place from September 23 to October 8, 2023, in Hangzhou, China.
This year, 40 sports will be included in the 15-day continental championship, which was moved from 2022 to 2023 due to COVID-19. Asia’s best athletes will compete for top honours.
The quadrennial competition has a long history with India, and during the past 20 years, Indian participation at the Asian Games has greatly expanded.

To compete in 36 different sports, India sent 570 athletes to the most recent championship in Jakarta.
Given the rise in medal events this year, it is predicted that Indian participation in the various competitions at the Asian Games 2022 will be even higher.

Archery
In the tryouts held in February 2023, Deepika Kumari was not selected for the Asian Games. Atanu Das, who didn’t make the team in the previous archery tryouts, did so this time around.

Boxing
Lovlina Borgohain, who won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics, will be in charge of India’s boxing challenge in the Asian Games 2022 because MC Mary Kom decided to skip them.
The contingent was selected through selection trials.
The eight men’s categories’ trials will take place in May.

Bridge
At the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, Indian card players competed in contact bridge and took home three medals, one gold and two bronze. This year, too, there will be a lot of hope.
At Hangzhou 2022, Keyzad Anklesaria and Sandeep Thakral will join the team that won the men’s team bronze in Jakarta 2018 with Sumit Mukherjee, Debabrata Mazumdar, Jaggi Sivdasani, and Rajeswar Tiwari.
The winning couple from Jakarta, Pranab Bardhan and Shibhnath De Sarkar, did not advance. In trials held in Pune, the team was chosen. As the coach/non-playing captain, Debasish Ray has been selected.

Esports
Medals will be awarded in eight games when esports make its Asian Games 2022 debut.
The 18-member Indian esports team, which was chosen through the National Esports Championships, will participate in five different video games: FIFA 22, Street Fighter V, Hearthstone, League of Legends, and DOTA 2.

Golf
For the Asian Games 2022, which would be the first time professional golfers are allowed, India will send a contingent of seven athletes, consisting of four men and three women.
Even though Anirban Lahiri, Shubhankar Sharma, Aditi Ashok, and Tvesa Malik automatically qualified due to their positions in the world rankings, the other three golfers were picked at trials that were held in the final week of April.
Avani Prashanth, a teenage golfer, confirmed the women’s spot, and Rashid Khan and Viraj Madappa qualified for the men’s competition in Hangzhou.

Hockey
The Indian men’s and women’s teams will be striving to perform well in Hangzhou because the Asian Games 2022 will serve as a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Both have a history of hockey medal success at the Asian Games.
