When the Asian Games begin in Hangzhou, China, on September 23, Kurash will participate in the event for a second time. The 19th Asian Games will include Ju-Jitsu and Kurash, two traditional martial arts with different histories, methods, and regulations.

Kurash is a Central Asian traditional wrestling and martial art that emphasises sport and competition while primarily using grappling, throws, and grips. Kurash focuses on throws and ground-based grappling and will be held at the Xiaoshan Linpu Gymnasium in the Linpu Town neighbourhood of Hangzhou.
Three men and six women are on India’s kurash team for the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
At the 2018 Asian Games, India took home two medals in the kurash event: Pincky Balhara earned silver in the women’s 52kg division, and Malaprabha Jadhav won bronze in the same division.
