Foil, epee, and sabre are the three different types of weapons used in the three competitions that make up the European sport of swordsmanship known as fencing. Armed athletes use the techniques of cutting, stabbing, and deflecting when competing in the sport of fencing and 12 goal medals are at stake.

At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, the Indian delegation will take part in three key competitions using various weaponry. Future prospects for fencing in India are promising, and medal hopes are growing daily.
With Tokyo Olympian C. A. Bhavani Devi, who has been competing against the odds for the past few years, leading the team, India’s fencing team is better than ever for the 19th Asian Games. The teams for men and women will compete in team foil and team epee competitions alongside Bhavani Devi.
Asian Games 2023 fencing schedule
The fencing competition during the Hangzhou Asian Games will take place from September 24 to September 29 in the Hangzhou Dianzi University Gymnasium.
Femcing for India will start on September 26, Tuesday at 4:00 am IST for women’s and will end at 3:20 pm IST, the same day. Next day, will be for the men’s fencing event starting on 4:00 am IST on September 27, Wednesday, and will run until 7:00 pm IST.
Women’s Epee team will also play the same day for it’s semifinals starting on 11:00 am IST followed by final played at 2:05 pm IST.
