While it was there earlier in 2018 as a showcase title, esports will officially make its debut at the Asian Games in 2023 as a medal event. The Esports industry will host a total of seven official events.

India will send 15 athletes to the Hangzhou Asian Games’ esports competition, which will take place from September 24 to October 2 at the China Hangzhou Esports Centre. The athletes will contend for seven gold medals.
The Asian Games 2022, which were originally planned to take place in September of last year, will instead take place from September 23 to October 8, 2023. The seven recognised Esports competitions at the competition are:

India will only compete in four of the seven games being played in the Esports competition at the Asian Games 2023: DOTA 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends, and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

Game Type: Single-player

Format: All contests, including the championship game, will follow the best-of-three (BO3) format.
Description: In the online football simulation FIFA Online 4, participants manage teams made up of actual football players. The players and their actions are controlled by you, making it identical to playing a genuine football game on a console.

League of Legends
Game Type: Team-Based
Dates: September 25 to 29
Format: The best-of-one (BO1) format will be used for the group stage matches, while the best-of-three (BO3) format will be used for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship matches.
Description: Each player controls a potent fantasy character in the team-based strategic game League of Legends. On a map, two teams engage in combat and cooperate to destroy their rivals’ bases in order to win.
Indian Team For League of Legends: Akshaj Shenoy leads the Indian team, and Samarth Arvind Trivedi, Mihir Ranjan, Aditya Selvaraj, Aakash Shandilya, and Sanindhya Malik are part of the squad. A total of five players will play in the tournament with one substitute.
Street Fighter V: Champion Edition
Game Type: Single-player
Dates: September 26 to 28
Format: The format for all games, including the championship, will be best-of-three (BO3).
Description: Players in the one-on-one fighting game Street Fighter V select a specific character with unique skills and attributes. They engage in thrilling combat with one another, resembling a martial arts competition.

DOTA 2
Game Type: Team-Based
Dates: September 29 to October 2
Format: The best-of-one (BO1) format will be used for the group stage matches, while the best-of-three (BO3) format will be used for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship matches.
Description: DOTA 2 is a team-based strategy game. DOTA stands for Defence of the Ancients 2. Defeating the enemy’s Ancient, which serves as the main structure in their base, and defending one’s own are the objectives of the two teams of five players each.
Indian Team for DOTA 2: Darshan Bata captains the Indian team, and Krish Gupta, Abhishek Yadav, Ketan Goyal, and Shubham Goli are his teammates. Similar to League of Legends, five players will play for the team.
