Asian Games 2022 Esports India Contingent, 18 Member Squad List Announced

The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) has announced an 18-member India contingent for the 2022 Asian Games. The sport will make its medal debut in the upcoming edition

After eight days of play in the National Esports Championship, the squad was chosen.

Shikhar Choudhary and Team Temple of Kings qualified for the Asiad by winning Hearthstone championships. Mayank Prajapati and Ayan Biswas qualified for Street Fighter V, while Charanjot Singh and Karman Singh Tikka qualified for FIFA 22. At DOTA 2, Team Whoops won the final day after defeating Team Avengers to clinch their berth in the Asian Games.

National Esports Championship Winners:

In the best-of-three finals, Chaudhary defeated Karthik Varma Vegesna 3-1 and 3-2. While Temple of Kings, comprised of captain Akshaj Shenoy, Samarth Arvind Trivedi, Mihir Ranjan, Aditya Selvaraj, Aakash Shandilya, and Sanindhya Malik, defeated Team Coco Cats 3-0.

Throughout the competition, Chaudhary showed remarkable abilities and gameplay, including the biggest shock of the event. When he defeated India’s sole Asian Games Esports medallist, Tirth Mehta, in the semi-finals. Tirth had earned a bronze medal in the Esports demonstration event at the 2018 Asian Games.
