2023 Asian Archery Championships schedule, date, venue, & key archers
Previously, the Indian recurve team missed out on an Olympic quota at both the Hyundai World Archery Championships and the Asian Games earlier this summer. However, the 16-member contingent heading to Bangkok is diligently working towards ensuring their qualification, aiming to make history by clinching an Olympic medal in Paris.
Indian compound archers demonstrated exceptional performance at the Asian Games, securing all five gold medals offered. While they are part of the Asian Archery Championships, it’s important to note that their category is not an Olympic event. The archery tournament in Bangkok will kick off on November 5 with the Men’s and Women’s recurve qualification round, followed by the Men’s and Women’s compound qualification round the next day.
Subsequently, the main draw will commence. The first round, the 1/48, will involve a large pool of athletes from various Asian countries. As the days progress and the rounds increase, the roster will gradually shrink in size. On November 9, fans will witness the gold medal matches for men’s, women’s, mixed individual, and team events in both recurve and compound archery.
