The event will include a total of 13 games, beginning with the group stage, which divides the six teams into two groups of three teams each. Group A has India, Pakistan, and Nepal while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
On September 2 in Kandy, India will play Pakistan in a Group A meeting; on September 4 in the same city, India will be up against Nepal. On August 30 in Multan, Pakistan will host Nepal in the tournament opener. Sri Lanka will host each of India’s games.
Group B matches in Lahore; where Bangladesh and Afghanistan will clash on September 3 and Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will face off on September 5 following the opening match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on August 31 in Kandy.
There will be a second match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which might take place in Colombo on September 10, if the top two teams advance to the Super Four round, where each team plays the other once. The Super Four stage’s top two finishers will then face off in the championship on September 17.
Nine of the 13 games will be spread among two locations in Sri Lanka, while four of the 13 games will be split across two stadiums in Pakistan. The final will take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The competition, which was played in a T20 format for its first two editions, is returning to an ODI format after five years. The ODI World Cup, which will be held in India in October and November, will use this as a warm-up.
