Ash Greninja Returns In Pokemon Journeys With Hint In Episode 100

Pokemon Journeys has revealed a major plot point in its 100th episode as Ash Greninja returns to the anime

The most recent iteration of the anime has passed the 100-episode mark, and with it, Ash Ketchum and Goh have explored every previous region and season of the anime. Over the course of his journey through the World Coronation Series, Ash has not only met some familiar friends and rivals, but he’s also partnered up with some of his most noteworthy Pokemon that he’s caught along the way.

Pokemon Journeys 100 Episode: Story As Ash Greninja Returns

With the release of the 100th episode of Pokemon Journeys in Japan, the series also debuted a new opening theme sequence. It serves as the fourth opening for the anime as a whole, and it contains a plethora of teases for what fans can expect in the upcoming episodes. This includes not only the return of some huge fan favourites, but one of these fan favourites is probably more notable than that, as Ash’s Greninja is also set to return.

In the past, Ash has teamed up with his returning Infernape for a special battle against Moltres, and Greninja could fill that role as well. However, as Ash fights his way through the World Coronation Series using all of his abilities accumulated throughout the anime’s history, the return of “Ash-Greninja” would fit right in. This was also mentioned on the official Twitter account. That is the only update available for Ash’s Greninja.

When I last saw Greninja, the Pokemon blew Ash’s side open so I could assist Squishy and Z2. There have been few updates since then. A return to the anime would be a great news for fans on both sides, irrespective of whether or not Ash will use it again in fight, but a full-on battle for Greninja’s big return would be a lot cooler.
