Taylor Frankie Paul, a TikTok star, was arrested on charges of felony aggravated assault, reckless child abuse, and domestic violence in the presence of a child with her arrest video now viral
This all happened after police bodycam footage showed her hitting her daughter with a chair during a fight with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
In the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Mortensen told Paul that she couldn’t go to a concert with her because she was too drunk. This caused Paul to lose her temper and throw chairs at Mortensen, hitting her daughter Indy in the head in the process.

Paul can be heard telling the officers that she had “peed” herself because she was scared of Mortensen on the police body cam footage. She said she pushed and hit him, and he pushed her into the kids’ things, which made her “go ballistic.”

Also one count of Class A misdemeanour child abuse that caused injury, and one count of Class B misdemeanour criminal mischief by the Salt Lake County District Attorney. On April 14, she has a court date. On the video, Mortensen can be heard telling the police that Indy is his “biggest concern” and that he “felt so bad” for the child.
According to the police report, there were “multiple metal chairs and other household items on the floor.” on the floor of the house. Mortensen told the police that he thought his elbow and finger were hurt and that he was “a little bit scared for my life.” He also said that his truck had “minor damage,” which he said was caused by the metal chairs.

Taylor Frankie Paul worried about social media backlash
Taylor Frankie Paul, who has four million followers on TikTok, was worried that the event would get a lot of attention on social media. Mortensen asked, “What happens from here, though? I mean, does this go on-record?” adding, “Will her picture be plastered… like, on a website?”
The officer informed him that Paul would have to appear in court and said, “No, it’s not like she’s going to make the news by any means.” Paul cooperated with the police after being handcuffed and put in a police car, even though she kept asking why she was being arrested.
This has made a lot of people angry on social media, and many of them want Paul’s account to be deleted or suspended. It’s not clear if TikTok will do anything about her account. Overall, the incident shows that being popular on social media doesn’t mean you don’t have to face the consequences of your actions, and that everyone is responsible for how they act, both online and off.
