Last year, the inaugural edition of the competition provided the perfect warm-up for Euro 2022, where Millie Bright shared the Golden Boot with Alexia Putellas.

Arnold Clark Cup 2023 teams

The Arnold Clark Cup 2023 is the second instalment of the competition, and it will feature the hosts and champions England alongside three other teams. South Korea, Italy, and Belgium are the other three teams set to compete against hosts England and each other in a round-robin tournament.

England

England are currently the favourites to win the cup having won the inaugural competition last year. The team also went on to win the Euro 2022 champions and they are currently ranked in fourth in the FIFA world rankings. England’s current key players include Leah Williamson, Mary Earps, Beth Mead, and Lucy Bronze.

South Korea

South Korea are another force to reckon with and are currently placed 15^th in the world rankings. The team has players including former Chelsea star Ji So-yun.

In 2022, they finished second in the AFC Women’s Asia Cup.

Italy

The Italians are currently ranked 17th in the world rankings. Despite failing to win any major silverware, Italy have an impressive squad at their disposal. The key players for Italy are Cristiana Girelli and Barbara Bonansea.

Belgium

The Red Flames are currently ranked in 19^th place in the world. Belgium have the all-time top scorer Tessa Wullaert on their squad and also their most capped player Janice Cayman.

England coach Sarina Wiegman recently released her 23-player squad for the upcoming tournament. The squad includes young stars like Lauren James and Ebony Salmon in attack. Uncapped goalkeeper Emily Ramsey who also features on the squad could well make her first ever senior appearance for England.
