We have now received an update from Graham Potter after Broja suffered an injury during a friendly match against Aston Villa. The 20-year-old was stretchered from the playing field after screaming in agony after colliding with Ezri Konsa. The Albanian player appeared to be in excruciating pain and was seen gripping his leg as emergency personnel attended to him.
Injuries have become a major setback for Chelsea.
The young player’s injury is a huge setback for the Blues as they gear up for the return to the Premier League because Broja has no history of knee problems. Chelsea ultimately fell to Unai Emery’s team 1-0 in Abu Dhabi without Broja. The striker joins an increasing list of injured players whom Graham Potter is unable to use, including Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante, Reece James, and Wesley Fofana.
After the defeat to Villa, the Blues manager expressed concern over Broja’s “awkward” injury to the club’s internal media staff. He stated: “I believe he got caught up with their player and the ground, which was a regrettable action. Right now, it doesn’t appear promising, but it’s too early to tell. Crossing fingers, but it’s an awkward one.”
Potter “risked” Broja against Villa, but Trevoh Chalobah wasn’t one of the players the Chelsea manager was willing to take that risk with. No changes were taken when it came to Chalobah’s physical condition. Players who left the World Cup early will return to training at Cobham this week when the Blues team’s flight from Abu Dhabi takes off tomorrow (Monday).
Multiple angles of #chelseafc forward Armando Broja’s right knee injury. Main concern here (esp from 2nd pic with leg externally rotated and some knee valgus) is ACL injury. Also possibility of MCL injury. Awaiting more info. #CFC pic.twitter.com/4HQcRd0WxG

Chelsea lacks a flawless No. 9.
In particular, Broja’s injury raises concerns before the January transfer window because the striker was previously strongly associated with leaving the organisation. But since the Albanian’s status does not appear to be improving, a relocation might not be possible at this time.
Despite Broja’s tragedy, Potter was moved by Omari Hutchinson, a young man. The left-winger, 19, who transferred to Chelsea from Arsenal in the summer, excelled there and led many of the Blues’ attacks. The Blues manager will be eager to capitalise on the successes and improve the team’s performance. On December 27, Chelsea will play Bournemouth in the Premier League.
