On Sunday, Arjun Tendulkar, the son of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Arjun got off to a strong start, giving up only four runs in his opening over and nearly gaining a wicket with a strong LBW appeal. Even though the Mumbai Indians declined the review, replays showed that the ball would have missed the stumps.
While Venkatesh Iyer smacked a four and a six on successive pitches during Arjun’s second over of the power play, Arjun was tagged for 13 runs. Arjun concluded with statistics of 2-0-17-0, and the Mumbai Indians did not allow him to bowl again for the remainder of the innings.

Who is Arjun Tendulkar?
Arjun Tendulkar is a renowned Indian cricketer. He has been in the news because he made his IPL debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
He was born on September 24, 1999, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His father’s name is Sachin Tendulkar, who is a legendary cricketer, and his mother’s name is Anjali Tendulkar. He also has an elder sister named Sara Tendulkar.
He did his schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai. His height is 6 feet 1 inch, or 185 cm. He is currently 23 years old. He is single and doesn’t have a girlfriend.
Arjun is a medium pacer and he kept his speeds around 127-128 KPH and didn’t bowl anything exceeding 129 KPH as he mostly looked for swing movement on his IPL debut.
His career
Arjun Tendulkar made his under-19 professional debut for India against Sri Lanka in 2018. Subsequently, in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Mumbai and Haryana, he made his T20 debut, taking one wicket for 34 runs off three overs.
He was purchased by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 auction, and in September of the same year, he was initially chosen for their senior team. He was a member of Mumbai’s 22-man Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy team; however, he was badly injured and unable to play in the 2021 IPL.
The Mumbai Indians purchased him back in the IPL 2022 auction in February 2022. Prior to the domestic season, Arjun Tendulkar made the decision to depart Mumbai and move to Goa in August 2022. He played for Goa in the 2022–23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he has been doing an outstanding job.
He made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy on December 13, 2022, during which he performed superbly, reaching his first century in the first innings with 120 runs off 207 balls.
Arjun finally made his eagerly anticipated IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 16, 2023. The Mumbai Indians signed Arjun Tendulkar at his base price of Rs 20 lakh in IPL 2022 and he was retained by the franchise at his base price of Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2023 auction in December last year.
