The Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) has reached its fifth season, know about the 2022 edition, its roadmap, schedule, date, format and prize money
The competition is held entirely online, with teams from all throughout Asia fighting for a $1 million prize fund.
At the penultimate day of the tournament, two Thai and Vietnamese teams, Buriram United Esports and V Gaming, have advanced to the finals and will play in a BO7 format to determine the victor of the 2021 Arena of Valor International Championship.

During the live stream, the game’s eSports roadmap for 2022 was revealed. Brend Gottsman, Tencent Games Global’s Head of Global Esports Center, provided various details throughout his speech.
The AoV: World Cup, which will take place in October 2022, will include a $10 million prize pool. This prize pool is one of the largest amounts anyone has seen in the history of mobile esports for a single event. The World Cup are teams from all over the world, and it will be the peak of AOV esports, according to Gottsman.
He also stated that Tencent intends to extend the AoV esports scene globally, which will entail the inclusion of new locations to the ecosystem.
The Arena of Valor World Cup was announced earlier this month, and it was revealed that Tencent intends to unite Arena of Valor and Honor of Kings (the Chinese version of the game) for the huge global tournament. The prize pool was initially established at $8 million, however it was later upped to $10 million.
The AoV World Cup will include 16 teams from across the globe, including Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, and Asia, among others.
The prize pool for the Arena of Valor International Championship 2022, which has so far only included teams from Asia, has been increased, and now stands at a whopping $2 million.

Gottsman explained the different stages of the esports road map that will be seen in 2022. The competitions are going happen in five stages next year.
Justin Lye, Garena’s Global Esports Manager, also shed light on various details about the event, including the tournament order for 2022.
Garena intends to expand the Pro Leagues next year by inviting more teams and raising prize pools for chosen regions, according to Lye.
Pro League will take place in several regions from January to May 2022, with the top clubs from each region qualifying for the AOV International Championship.
The second season of the Pro Leagues is going to start from July to September after the AIC 2022, allowing teams to compete in the AoV World Cup.
For teams, a new localised point system has been implemented. They will be able to gain spots for the Arena of Valor World Cup by gaining points in their regional competitions all through the year.
It will be interesting to see how the new ecology evolves globally, as well as how well AoV fans accept it.
