The latter had received a 25-year prison term for supporting terrorist groups and the murder of unarmed civilians. One of the US representatives was there and recorded Griner settling into her seat as the plane took off. People began to wonder if she was related to comedian Pete Davidson after this particular video went viral.

The video of Brittney Griner expressing her eagerness to return home went popular on the internet. Given the difficulties, she faced in Russia, the Phoenix Mercury centre looked unrecognisable to many people. Fans even claimed that she resembled one of Hollywood’s most well-known comedians, Pete Davidson. They believed she was Pete for a number of different reasons.
To begin with, her attire resembled what Davidson would often wear: big shirts, a beanie, and an inside-out sweater. Pete is renowned for having an overly casual appearance. Fans started to speculate about their relationship as this topic spread like wildfire on the internet. They unfortunately have no connection to one another. The fact that both people are from different families and descents only serves to highlight the situation. Griner was once more compared to Pete at her most recent performance at the Met Gala.

Griner has always strived to be different, regardless of what would be assumed. She is one of the few players in the WNBA who can regularly slam the ball into the basket. She distinguished herself by standing tall as well. Griner has benefited from all of these and distinguished herself in the game of basketball. Ironically, even Davidson’s path to fame in Hollywood has been somewhat similar. His individuality was what got his career off to a solid start.
