Archery World Cup Antalya 2023 schedule, dates, venue, teams, format, live stream

The 2023 Archery World Cup season is back, and it will bring together all of the world’s best archers, get to know all the competition details including season preview, format, schedule, how to watch live action from Antalya

The competition will serve as an indirect Paris 2024 qualifier, and will provide points towards the Archery World Rankings.

The Archery World Rankings will determine two Olympic Games team quotas for both men and women as per the 24 June 2024 rankings.

This year’s competition will feature four stages, with stops in Türkiye, the People’s Republic of China, Colombia, and France, before the final in Mexico.

Archery World Cup 2023 season preview

This year again, the competition will feature both recurve and compound events. However, only recurve archers will get to earn Olympic qualification ranking points, as the Olympics does not feature compound events.

Going into the competition Republic of Korea’s Kim Woojin and An San are the defending men’s and women’s recurve World Cup champions. Meanwhile, Dutchman Mike Schloesser and Colombian Sara López are the reigning compound World Cup winners.

As the archers head into the competition, Kim, who is a two-time Olympic team gold medallist, and An, the triple Olympic champion are the stars to watch this season. The Republic of Korea will look to continue their dominance over recurve archery yet again.

2023 Archery World Cup format

The 2023 Archery World Cup will feature 4 stages with 10 events each and final round. Eeach of the qualification round stages will take place over two different venues. Meanwhile the fourth stage will take place at Les Invalides, Paris as an official Olympic Games test event.

The different competitions and events are:

  • Men’s and women’s recurve individual
  • Men’s and women’s compound individual
  • Men’s and women’s recurve team
  • Men’s and women’s compound team
  • Mixed team events in both recurve and compound

Each athlete will get to earn points, and earn bonus points by finishing in the top eight of each of the qualification rounds.

Once the four World Cup stages end, each of the individual stage winners and the next best archers from the World Cup Ranking will qualify for the Archery World Cup Final. The eight athletes (maximum two per team), 32 in total in each individual event will then compete in the Final.

The final round is set to take place in Hermosillo, Mexico. The World Cup champions will be decided based on the standalone Final.
