Aditi Gopichand Swami is a young Indian archer. She has been in the news because she recently won the second gold medal at the World Archery Youth Championships.

She is a native of Satara, Maharashtra. Her father is a teacher, and she also has one younger brother in her family.

Aditi Gopichand Swami’s quest began in 2016 when, inspired by the success of archer Pravin Jadhav, her father enrolled her in a nearby academy. Since then, there has been no looking back for this aspiring archer.

She is currently 17 years old.

Her career

Aditi Gopichand Swami recently won gold in the Archery Asia Cup 2022 Stage 2 in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, with Sakshi Chaudhary and Parneet Kaur. Subsequently, in the Khelo India Youth Games at the Panjab University field in Chandigarh, she added an individual gold medal to Maharashtra’s medal haul in the compound event.

She also broke the Under-18 world record in the women’s compound qualification round at the Archery World Cup 2023 stage 3 in Medellin, Colombia. She established a new record on Tuesday by scoring 711 out of 720, breaking Liko Arreola of the United States’ previous mark of 705 set just one month earlier.

Her current world rating of 34 is the highest of her career.
