54-year-old Annastacia Palaszczuk was born on July 25, 1969. She is 5ft 5in tall and 65 kgs in weight.
Annastacia Palaszczuk grew up in Durack, a suburb in Brisbane. Her dad, Henry Pałaszczuk, was a long-time member of the state Labor party who was born in Germany to Polish parents, while her Australian mom, Lorelle, has German ancestry.
Annastacia attended St Mary’s College, Ipswich from 1982 to 1986. She studied Arts and Laws at the University of Queensland, earned a Masters of Arts from the London School of Economics as a Chevening Scholar.
She has had multiple marriages and domestic partners, and her parents are Henry Palaszczuk and Lorelle Palaszczuk.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has been serving as the 39th Premier of Queensland since February 14, 2015, making history as the first woman to win the premiership from opposition. Prior to this, she held various roles, including Leader of the Opposition in Queensland from March 28, 2012, to February 14, 2015.
Palaszczuk has been the Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Inala since September 9, 2006. Her political career includes ministerial positions such as Minister for Transport and Minister for Multicultural Affairs during Anna Bligh’s premiership.
She is the Minister for the Olympics since October 7, 2021. Before becoming a Member of the Legislative Assembly, Annastacia Palaszczuk worked as a political adviser. She took over the Inala seat from her father, Henry Palaszczuk.
During 2009 to 2012, she had various roles in the Bligh Government. When Queensland Labor faced a big loss, she became one of the only seven Labor Assembly Members left. Without facing any competition, Palaszczuk became the Leader of Queensland Labor and took on the role of Leader of the Opposition.
Even though Labor faced a big loss in 2012, Annastacia Palaszczuk led them to win in 2015 by making history as the first woman in Australia to become a state premier from the opposition. She continued to lead Labor to even bigger victories in the 2017 and 2020 elections.
On December 10, 2023, Annastacia Palaszczuk announced that she will resign as Premier. She plans to step down by the end of the week and leave parliament by the end of December.
